Gyeonggi Province is providing urgent support in supplies and personnel to Jeollabuk-do, where the '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree' is being held.
Gyeonggi Province announced that, as the first phase, it will dispatch 12 rescue team members, 15 paramedics, 5 ambulances, and one disaster recovery support bus (with a capacity of 25) to the Jamboree site on the 4th.
Following this, as the second phase, 80,000 bottles of ice water will be supplied to Jeonbuk on the 6th. Gyeonggi Province also stated that it will consider additional support if requested by Jeonbuk.
This support is in accordance with the directive of Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province.
Governor Kim Dong-yeon decided to support the World Scout Jamboree after a direct phone call with Governor Kim Kwan-young of Jeollabuk-do.
On January 17, 2023, Gyeonggi Province and Jeollabuk-do signed the 'Mutual Development Agreement for Win-Win Prosperity between Gyeonggi Province and Jeollabuk-do' and agreed to work together for the successful hosting of the '2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree.'
Governor Kim Dong-yeon emphasized, "Those who have come to the 2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree are guests visiting our Republic of Korea from around the world," and added, "We will actively support the safe and successful operation of the event."
