Children from the 'Yongin Area Together Care Center' are enjoying a performance at a traditional culture experience event organized by Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH) over two days, March 3-4, at the National Intangible Heritage Center in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH) held a traditional culture experience event over two days, on the 3rd and 4th, at the National Intangible Heritage Transmission Education Center in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
This event, titled "Cultural Heritage Playground with GH," was jointly conducted with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation and involved 46 children from the "Yongin-si Dahamkke Dolbom Center."
The invited children experienced traditional performing arts (Bongsan Talchum) and traditional crafts (instrument making) together with intangible heritage transmission educators and masters. They also moved to a space where an exhibition titled "Great Golden Hands' Market," a market-style display of various traditional crafts, was held, allowing them time to observe the works.
Kim Se-yong, President of GH, stated, "As a leading local public enterprise and 'Cultural Heritage Keeper,' we plan to continue expanding and sustaining various cultural heritage social contribution activities to preserve cultural assets and widely promote history and culture."
Since 2018, GH has been steadily supporting intangible cultural heritage transmission activities. After signing a "Cultural Heritage Keeper" agreement with the Cultural Heritage Administration in 2010, GH has continuously organized cultural experience events for children.
