Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 4th that its self-developed virtual human Lucy will appear on the LG Uplus live commerce channel.

Lucy will appear on the LG Uplus live commerce channel at 11 a.m. on the 5th to sell products such as the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5. This is the first time a virtual influencer has served as a live broadcast host for a telecommunications company. Lucy will convey information about the new products' design, performance, user reviews, and pre-order benefits, and will also share her impressions from attending the Unpacked event.

The virtual human Lucy started as a fashion influencer and expanded her activities to become a car marketer, promotional model, and entertainer, currently becoming a leading influencer with 170,000 followers. On the 26th of last month, she was invited as a VIP to attend Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy Unpacked' event held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This was Samsung Electronics' first-ever Unpacked event held domestically, where Lucy participated as an influencer to experience the new products.

Meanwhile, Lotte Homeshopping is continuously collaborating with immersive content production company Foray4 to advance Lucy's technology. To conduct live commerce, tens of thousands of graphic data pieces have been trained on a deep learning AI model to realize natural movements and facial expressions in real time. Within this year, they plan to develop Lucy's unique voice to enhance realism to a level similar to that of an actual human.
