Cheongsong-gun's 'Visiting Korean Medicine Service' for People with Physical Disabilities Receives Great Response The Visiting Healthcare Team of Cheongsong County Health and Medical Center operated an outreach Korean medicine program for people with disabilities affiliated with the Cheongsong Branch of the Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities.

This Korean medicine program for people with physical disabilities involved preliminary surveys on histories of hypertension and diabetes, and selected patients with chronic pain diseases to provide education on the prevention and management of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and pain reduction. It received great response as it offered hypertension and diabetes management education, one-on-one consultations and acupuncture with Korean medicine doctors, and personalized health management services.

In particular, by expanding face-to-face health services that had been suspended due to COVID-19, it also helped increase social activities for people with disabilities and maintain their physical and emotional health.

Yoon Kyung-hee, the county governor, said, “We will strive harder to promote the health of Cheongsong residents by discovering and implementing more diverse projects for vulnerable groups suffering from chronic pain and disabilities.”
