Sharing Educational Training Techniques
Specialized instructors from fire academies have come together to explore efficient and systematic fire suppression training methods.
The Central Fire Academy and Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy announced on the 3rd that 17 fire suppression instructors gathered at the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy located in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, to conduct a 'Joint Real Fire Training Research.'
With the increase in on-site personnel, the proportion of newly appointed firefighters nationwide has significantly risen. As of December last year, the ratio of Firefighters and Fire Sergeants nationwide accounted for 66% of all fire service personnel. Especially with the enlargement and increasing complexity and diversity of buildings, the difficulty and risk at fire scenes have increased, making realistic training crucial for newly appointed firefighters.
The Central Fire Academy, located in Gongju-si, Chungnam, is equipped with the country's largest fire-resistant structure training facility, while the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, has fire-resistant structures and container real fire training facilities. Seventeen fire suppression instructors from the Central Fire Academy and Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy, each possessing different training facilities, share training techniques such as observing fire characteristics and simulating fire hazard phenomena according to the unique features of each facility, and conduct joint training sessions for efficient and systematic fire suppression education.
Ma Jae-yoon, head of the Central Fire Academy, stated, "This joint training is expected to greatly contribute not only to strengthening the capabilities of on-site personnel to respond quickly and effectively to various fire situations but also to fostering professional instructors." He added, "We will continue to strive to provide specialized fire services through ongoing research and educational innovation."
