Eunpyeong-gu Wins ‘Excellence’ at National Local Government Job Awards for Two Consecutive Years

Highly Rated for Eunpyeong-style Social Services and Cultural Content Job Creation

Created 14,955 Local Jobs Last Year, Exceeding Target by 122%

Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it received the ‘Excellence Award’ in the Local Job Target Public Announcement category at the ‘2023 National Local Government Job Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

The ‘Job Awards’ is the highest honor in the job sector, annually evaluating and recognizing outstanding local governments nationwide for their comprehensive job policies. This year’s ceremony was held on the 2nd in Sejong City.

Eunpyeong-gu was recognized for its efforts and achievements in creating local jobs by winning the award for two consecutive years, including last year.

The evaluation criteria for this year’s ‘Job Awards’ included ▲performance and cases of key job projects ▲collaborative systems among job-related organizations ▲efforts to improve job quality.

The district received high marks for job policies tailored to local characteristics, such as the ‘Eunpyeong-style Social Services’ and the ‘Cultural Content Job Creation Project.’ It worked to establish a virtuous cycle of Eunpyeong-style jobs across welfare, culture, employment, and growth sectors.

The 70 million KRW secured as a policy incentive will be used for next year’s job projects.

Focusing on the core pledge of ‘creating specialized local settlement jobs where people live and work in Eunpyeong,’ the district concentrated on building ‘My Job in Eunpyeong, where Tomorrow is Happy.’

It implemented various customized support policies, including comprehensive policies to make the area attractive for youth settlement through startup support and strategic job projects targeting vulnerable employment groups.

As a result, 14,955 jobs were created last year, achieving 122% of the target.
