Daegu Bank Goes to a Resort, Operates a 9-Day 'Beach Bank' at Chilpo Beach in Pohang

DGB Daegu Bank (President Hwang Byung-woo) announced on the 2nd that it is operating a beach bank using a mobile branch at Chilpo Beach in Heunghae-eup, Pohang City, for vacationers during the peak summer holiday season.


Starting from the 29th of last month and continuing for 9 days until the 6th, the Chilpo Beach Bank is located in the parking lot of Pohang Chilpo Beach. It provides financial convenience through the operation of an ATM using DGB Moving Bank No. 1 and introduces Pohang to tourists by displaying promotional videos of Pohang on LED screens.

DGB Daegu Bank, which is in the process of transitioning to a commercial bank, has set up an event space on the beach sand to offer special memories to vacationers visiting from all over the country. Various events such as the stopwatch game "Match 7.4 seconds (Chilpo)" and giveaways are being held.


DGB Daegu Bank’s mobile branches (visiting banks), which provide convenient financial services by visiting various local festivals, tourist spots, and financial blind spots, consist of Moving Bank No. 1, No. 2, and Portable DGB. The Moving Bank No. 1 and No. 2 vehicles are equipped with financial terminals and automated teller machines (ATMs), while the Portable DGB is a portable mobile terminal. All use wireless communication networks to provide financial services without location restrictions.


A representative of DGB Daegu Bank’s mobile branches stated, “Due to reduced outdoor activities caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to meet many customers through the operation of mobile branches at summer resorts for the first time in four years, and we plan to visit various event venues in the future.” They added, “We will provide financial services in various ways, including services for financial blind spots such as underserved areas and financially marginalized groups.”
