Ulsan tap water received a passing grade.
The Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters (Head Lee Young-hwan) announced on the 2nd that all 108 tap water samples tested through the Tap Water Safety Confirmation System in the first half of this year met the water quality standards.
The Tap Water Safety Confirmation System is a program where households using tap water can apply for water quality testing, and officials visit the homes to collect samples free of charge, conduct on-site tests, and inform the applicants of the results.
The water quality test items include six parameters that can be measured on-site: turbidity, pH, residual chlorine, and aging pipe-related items such as iron, copper, and zinc.
If the first test results are non-compliant, a second test is conducted for seven additional items (total bacteria, total coliform group, chloride ion, ammonia nitrogen, manganese, color, and hardness), and guidance on corrective measures is provided.
Applications can be made through the Mul Sarang website, the Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters website, or by phone inquiry.
