Noryangjin Private Station Building Transforms into a 150m Super High-Rise Landmark

A 150-meter-tall high-rise landmark will be built around Noryangjin Station in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, reborn as a new economic hub along the Han River.

According to the district unit plan for the south end of the Han River Railroad Bridge, which passed the Seoul City Urban and Architectural Joint Committee on the 26th of last month, the floor area ratio and height restrictions around Noryangjin Station will be significantly relaxed, and a direct route connecting to Yeouido will be newly established, developing the area into a waterfront complex hub.

In particular, during the public notice of the district unit plan last year, the Noryangjin Station special planning zone was planned to be limited to a height of 70 meters or less, but following persistent proposals from Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha), the height was raised to 150 meters and approved.

This plan, announced as Dongjak-gu has been actively promoting various development projects since the 8th elected term, is expected to give momentum to the development of Noryangjin Station.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “With this district unit plan decision, Noryangjin will transform into a strategic hub in the southwest area of Seoul,” adding, “We will find ways to change the city skyline centered on Noryangjin Station, create a landmark that has never existed in Dongjak before, and drive the overall development of Dongjak-gu.”
