Busan Gijang-gun is fully supporting the "Forklift Operator License Acquisition Training" as one of the job creation projects for the middle-aged and senior population.
The training is conducted for residents of Gijang-gun, and trainees will be selected for one month starting from August 1.
Those who wish to obtain a forklift operator license must complete education related to construction machinery operation in accordance with Article 26, Paragraph 4 of the Construction Machinery Management Act.
In response to the recent continuous increase in residents wanting to be employed as forklift operators, the county has prepared a job creation support program targeting the middle-aged and senior population.
The training consists of theoretical education on construction machinery engines, electrical and work devices, and practical training covering overall forklift operation. The training fee is fully supported by Gijang-gun.
The county plans to select 30 applicants who wish to receive training among residents of Gijang-gun aged 40 to 60, holding a Class 1 regular driver's license, from August 1 to August 31. For more details, please contact the Gijang-gun Employment Information Center.
Jung Jong-bok, the mayor of Gijang-gun, said, "People aged 40 and above account for 62% of the total population of Gijang-gun and play the most important role in the county, but there is a shortage of jobs relative to the population."
He added, "We will do our best to promote various customized programs so that more job-seeking activities can be carried out for the middle-aged and senior population in the future and contribute to successful employment."
