Children and Parents Respond Positively to Improved Commute Convenience

Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, has transformed the Uljin-gun mayor's official residence into the Uljin-gun Together Care Center and is currently operating it.

As part of creating a child-friendly environment, Uljin-gun relocated the care center, which had been operating near the Uljin Cultural Center since March, to the mayor's official residence closer to the school for the convenience of children and parents.

With the care center moving closer to the school, the inconvenience faced by parents and children who had to travel long distances for care has been resolved, receiving great positive feedback.

The Together Care Center was established for after-school care for elementary students and can be used regardless of the parents' income level. Currently, the regular care enrollment for 20 children is full, but temporary care, which operates on a same-day registration and same-day termination basis, is available.

The usage fee is 30,000 KRW per month. During the school term, the center operates from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and during vacations, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Children using the center are provided with meals and snacks, and in addition to homework guidance, various programs such as experiential and artistic activities are also offered.

Parents of students using the care center said, "Since it is near the elementary school, we can leave our children without worry, and we are very satisfied with the variety of programs provided."

Mayor Son Byeong-bok said, "I am pleased that the mayor's official residence, which is in a good location for children to use, is being operated as a care center, allowing parents to leave their children near the elementary school with peace of mind and work."
