As many people leave for vacation at the end of July and early August, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency is strengthening drunk driving crackdowns within the province.
On the 29th, the Provincial Police Agency conducted the 6th nationwide drunk driving crackdown at 37 locations across the province, including restaurant districts and major tourist spots, as well as at the Dongchangwon and Seojinju toll gates (TG) on the highway and the entrance and exit roads of Munsan Rest Area.

According to the Provincial Police Agency, the crackdown involved 74 traffic police officers, 43 local police officers, 40 members of the riot police, and 61 patrol cars.
As a result of the crackdown, 30 drivers were caught, including a man in his 20s in Sinan-dong, Jinju City, who was caught with a blood alcohol concentration at the level of license cancellation around 11:55 p.m. that night.
Among those caught, 22 had their licenses canceled and 8 had their licenses suspended.
The Provincial Police Agency plans to continue drunk driving crackdowns during the vacation season and will conduct surprise checks during the daytime as well.
