Yangcheon-gu Mayor Lee Gijae Works Hard to Support Flood Recovery in Buyeo-gun

Lee Gijae, Yangcheon District Mayor, Joins Volunteer Group to Support Flood Recovery in Buyeo County, Chungnam

Yangcheon District (Mayor Lee Gijae) announced that from July 31 to August 1, they plan to visit Buyeo County, Chungnam, a sister city declared a special disaster area due to heavy rain, to carry out flood recovery volunteer activities.

The Yangcheon volunteer group, consisting of about 120 residents and public officials, will devote their full efforts over two days to support damage recovery in Buyeo County, including removing soil and debris.

On the 31st, Mayor Lee Gijae, who visited Buyeo County early in the morning with the volunteer group, personally helped clean the belongings of a tile factory damaged by flooding to aid recovery efforts. He also delivered emergency relief supplies such as flood recovery equipment.

Mayor Lee said, “It was heartbreaking to see the severe damage caused by the heavy rain in our sister city, Buyeo County. I sincerely thank the volunteers who joined forces to support Buyeo’s flood recovery, and I sincerely wish the residents of Buyeo a speedy return to normal life.”
