If You Pay Just 1,000 Won More for Economy Class, You Can Lie Down Like on a Sofa

Air New Zealand Incheon↔Auckland Promotion
"Economy 3 Seats Can Be Used Together"

New Zealand national airline Air New Zealand announced that it will run a promotion for 'Skycouch' seats, allowing passengers to lie down comfortably for just an additional 1,000 KRW, for one day only on the 31st.

This promotion applies only to round-trip economy class direct flights between Incheon and Auckland. When purchasing tickets for two adults or three people including children, customers can buy the economy class Skycouch for just 1,000 KRW per one-way trip. The Skycouch is an option that connects economy seats to create a wide, flat sofa-like space. The travel period is from August 1 to December 7.

Meanwhile, Air New Zealand plans to introduce an aircraft with a sleeping compartment called 'Skynest' for economy passengers in September next year. Skynest means 'nest in the sky.'

The sleeping compartment measures 58 cm in width and 200 cm in length, arranged in three tiers with two beds on each level. Air New Zealand plans to remove five economy seats and install a total of six Skynests on eight Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to be introduced next year.

Economy passengers can reserve the sleeping compartment for an additional fee, which will be sold in units of up to four hours per flight. The cost is expected to be around 400 to 500 USD (approximately 500,000 to 630,000 KRW), but the final price has not yet been decided.
