Webtoon artist Ju Homin is at the center of controversy over alleged infringement of teacher's rights during the process of suing a special education teacher at an elementary school for abusing his son with developmental disabilities. Amid this, claims have emerged that the Ju family transferred their son to an elementary school located in Jungnang-gu, Seoul.
On the 28th, a post titled "Emergency at Seoul ○○ Elementary!" was uploaded to a real estate specialist cafe. The original post revealed the full name of the elementary school.
The author wrote, "It seems the Ju Homin family moved to Seoul. They left Bundang △△ Elementary School in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do in ruins and recently transferred to Seoul ○○ Elementary School a few months before summer vacation."
They also explained, "Ju Homin cleverly manipulated his statement, but the actual child was in 4th grade last year (integrated class 2nd grade due to repeating 2 years), and is 11 years old. The female victim at △△ Elementary was 9 years old last year."
They pointed out, "(Ju Homin's son) started puberty and acted on instinct. If not corrected quickly, it could lead to serious problems, but the special education teacher who tried to guide him was sued."
The special education class at the school consists of 3 students, forming 2 special classes. However, since it is summer vacation, it has not been confirmed whether the Ju couple actually transferred their son to the school.
Earlier, Ju revealed that he reported a special education teacher who taught his son with autism spectrum disorder for child abuse in September last year, which sparked controversy. On the 26th, Ju posted on his social network service (SNS) account, stating, "The recording (of the class time) contained situations that are hard to see as simple discipline," and added, "Emotional child abuse is difficult for the education office to judge and replace the teacher on its own, and action can only be taken based on the results of a judicial investigation, so we requested an investigation."
Ju's son was separated into a special class after exposing part of his body in front of female students during class in September last year.
The teacher was suspended from duty, and the trial has been ongoing since December last year. Fellow teachers and parents have submitted petitions to the court requesting leniency so that the teacher can return to the classroom.
