This training was designed for newly appointed public officials as of the 5th of this month to establish a sound sense of national duty, ethics, and public service values, to foster a correct understanding of the city administration’s direction, enhance adaptability to the public service community, and cultivate the basic knowledge necessary for efficient civil complaint administration.

The main training sessions included ▲ City administration operation directions and current status ▲ Understanding of information and communication utilization and personal information protection ▲ Digital sexual violence prevention education ▲ Official document and report writing methods ▲ Building communication and empathy within the organization ▲ Practical training on records management. Notably, senior public officials served as instructors, sharing their work know-how accumulated through public service life, adding vivid on-site experience.

Considering the recent nationwide increase in resignations among newly appointed public officials, the training program extensively covered methods to smoothly adapt to the public service environment and handle conflicts with civil petitioners that may arise during work execution.

On the final day of training, the 28th, the schedule concluded with on-site visits to key city administration locations including ▲ Pohang Cheolgilsup Sangsaeng Forest Trail ▲ Municipal Solid Waste Energy Facility (SRF) ▲ Change up Ground ▲ Cell Membrane Protein Research Institute, and the Green Vaccine Demonstration Support Center.

Baek Seong-ho, Director of the General Affairs and Saemaul Division, stated, “We expect the creative ideas and passion of the new public officials to bring new vitality to Pohang City,” and added, “We ask them to be a driving force for Pohang’s development into a city where citizens are happy and competitive.”
