U+tv Customers Can Watch Coupang Play Content Regardless of Plan
LG Uplus's IPTV service, 'U+ tv,' will now allow viewers to watch Coupang Play content.
On the 30th, LG Uplus announced that it has formed a partnership to enable Coupang Play content to be viewed on IPTV for the first time, aiming to innovate customers' content usage experience.
Coupang Play is an OTT service provided to Coupang Wow membership subscribers. It offers a diverse lineup including original content, domestic and international TV series, movies, sports broadcasts, and kids & education programs.
With this partnership, U+ tv customers who use the Coupang Wow membership can watch Coupang Play content on the large IPTV screen regardless of their subscribed plan.
LG Uplus has restructured U+ tv into an 'OTT TV' as part of its four-platform strategy, improving the service to make it easier to browse various OTT platforms all at once.
In 2018, it became the first in Korea to offer Netflix on IPTV, and since 2021, it has expanded partnerships with various providers including Disney+ and this year, TVING.
Geon-Young Lee, Executive Director of LG Uplus Home Media Tribe, stated, "We will continue to collaborate with more providers to offer a seamless service that makes various OTT platforms feel like one."
