Comprehensive Inspection of Facilities and Operations... Urges Thorough Safety Management to Officials

Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Ilhyung Lee conducted an on-site inspection of the children's water playgrounds at Baebongsan and Imun Sports and Culture Center on the 29th.

Dongdaemun-gu operates children's water playgrounds at the Open Plaza of Baebongsan Neighborhood Park and the vacant lot next to the tennis courts at Imun Sports and Culture Center from July 20 to August 16, coinciding with the summer vacation period for children. Over 2,800 visitors enjoyed the water playground within a week of its opening due to the hot weather.

During the visit, Mayor Lee inspected the overall operation of the water playgrounds, including the installation status of water play facilities and convenience facilities, as well as safety management measures, and urged officials to ensure thorough safety management.

The water playground is free of charge, and residents visiting for rest can freely enter the resting areas. Entrance to the pool requires wearing swimwear and swim caps.

Operating hours are divided into two sessions: Part 1 (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Part 2 (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.), with 50 minutes of operation followed by a 10-minute break. During the break, water quality management and environmental maintenance are conducted. The playground is closed every Monday for facility maintenance and hygiene inspection. It may also close due to adverse weather conditions such as typhoons or rain for safety reasons. Admission may be restricted if there are concerns about safety due to a large number of visitors.
