Director Ryu Seung-wan's new film "Mil-su" surpassed 1 million viewers within four days of its release.
According to distributor NEW on the 29th, "Mil-su" exceeded a cumulative audience of 1 million that morning.
"Mil-su" was released on the 26th. It became the second fastest Korean film this year to reach 1 million viewers, following "Crime City 3."
Among Korean films released this year, four have surpassed 1 million viewers: "Mil-su," "Crime City 3," "Negotiation," and "Dream." With a production budget of approximately 17.5 billion KRW, "Mil-su" was the first to be released among the four major Korean blockbusters scheduled for this summer.
On July 2nd, director Kim Yong-hwa's "The Moon" and director Kim Sung-hoon's "Unofficial Operation" will be released, followed by director Um Tae-hwa's "Concrete Utopia" on July 9th. "Mil-su" is a film about the crimes of haenyeo (female divers) set in the fictional seaside city of Guncheon in the 1970s. The cast includes actors Kim Hye-soo, Yum Jung-ah, Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min, and Go Min-si.
