The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that Vice Minister Park Yoon-kyu visited ESTsoft on the 28th as part of a series of on-site visits to leading companies in various industries to strengthen AI ethics and reliability. Vice Minister Park assessed the compliance status of AI ethics and reliability and encouraged active implementation.
ESTsoft is a company that creates AI humans (AI-based virtual characters) based on real data and provides video content related to broadcasting, finance, education, and more. They apply their internally established five AI ethical principles in the development and utilization of AI humans. These principles include AI that respects humans, AI that contributes to society, fair AI, ethical AI, and safe AI.
Jung Sang-won, CEO of ESTsoft, stated, "We utilize Chat GPT in developing AI humans to enable real-time Q&A with customers, but to mitigate hallucination phenomena, we use fact-based data such as newspaper articles and news. We also inform users that they are interacting with AI humans to prevent confusion with real people." He added, "In response to concerns that generative AI could be used for deepfakes and cause social problems, we are promoting the development of technology to detect whether content is generated using AI."
Vice Minister Park said, “AI humans are a particularly important area for securing AI ethics and reliability because they communicate directly with people and can influence their words and actions,” encouraging businesses to make efforts to ensure ethics and reliability.
