According to the police on the 27th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul sent Lee, who is accused of gambling and other charges, to the prosecution without detention on the 25th.
Lee is suspected of using an account under another person's name to engage in internet gambling. The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) received a tip in March that "a player from a metropolitan area team was involved in illegal internet gambling" and requested an investigation into Lee.
Initially denying the charges, Lee admitted to the allegations and surrendered to the team in April. Following the controversy, the LG Twins removed Lee from the first-team roster and posted an apology on the team's official website in the same month.
