Gwangju University Rolls Up Sleeves for Language Education of Low-Income and Multicultural Families

The Office of International Cooperation at Gwangju University announced on the 27th that it has signed an agreement with the Jinwol-dong Community Security Council and the Jinwol-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Nam-gu, Gwangju to conduct foreign language and Korean language education programs.


These institutions have agreed to work together to alleviate the educational disparity among vulnerable groups and to carry out diverse language education programs for children from low-income families and multicultural households.

Oh Seung-su, chairman of the Jinwol-dong Community Security Council, said, "We hope that foreign language and Korean language education utilizing Gwangju University's excellent educational infrastructure will raise interest and confidence among local welfare recipients and serve as an opportunity for them to grow into global talents."


Jeon Jeong-hwan, director of the Office of International Cooperation, stated, "We are pleased to create educational conditions for regional social development. We will continue to plan and operate abundant programs in cooperation with the local community so that they can nurture big dreams for a bright future."
