On the 27th, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education visited the flood damage site at Hoeryongpo in Yonggung-myeon, Yecheon-gun, which was affected by record-breaking heavy rain, and carried out recovery support activities.
Yecheon Hoeryongpo suffered severe damage as forests and slopes were washed away and the village was submerged due to the heavy rain.
Gyeongbuk Office of Education employees are carrying out restoration work on greenhouses damaged by flooding in Yonggung-myeon, Yecheon-gun.
On that day, 40 employees of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education rolled up their sleeves to support the recovery efforts, hoping that the daily lives of local residents would be restored as soon as possible through swift flood recovery under the scorching heat exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.
The employees of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education devoted themselves to volunteer work at the site, sweating as they removed damaged greenhouse frames broken by the heavy rain, cleared torn plastic sheets, and cleaned up flood debris to restore the surrounding environment.
Kim Tae-hyung, Deputy Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, said, “We will unite as one to help the flood victims, who are in despair due to the unexpected heavy rain, return to their daily lives as soon as possible by contributing to the recovery efforts.”
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, visited temporary shelters at the Yecheon-gun Culture and Sports Center and the Dongsa-ri Senior Citizens’ Center in Eunpung-myeon, Yecheon-gun, on the 18th and 20th, offering consolation to the disaster victims and delivering relief supplies.
