Kakao Pay "Claims for Actual Loss Insurance at Over 5,700 Hospitals Without Documents"

Past Medical Records Inquiry Enables Billing as Well

Kakao Pay has expanded its service that allows users to easily claim indemnity medical insurance benefits without paperwork to over 5,700 hospitals nationwide.

On the 27th, Kakao Pay announced that it is expanding the hospitals eligible for its 'Hospital Bill Claim' service. As a result, Kakao Pay users can now claim insurance benefits without submitting separate documents at more than 5,700 hospitals across the country, including major general hospitals such as Seoul National University Hospital, Korea University Hospital, and Severance Hospital.

The 'Hospital Bill Claim' service consists of two types: 'Direct Claim' and 'Photo Claim.' At hospitals partnered for 'Direct Claim,' users can claim hospital bills immediately without taking photos of documents, while 'Photo Claim' allows users to proceed with claims by photographing the required documents via mobile. Kakao Pay provides information on insurance products that users can claim by utilizing MyData.

A feature to view and claim medical records from the past year has also been added recently. Users can now claim insurance benefits for previously unclaimed past medical treatments. This is the first insurance claim service to even retrieve medical records from local clinics.

A Kakao Pay representative stated, "We plan to enhance features so that the entire process from hospital bill payment to insurance benefit payment can be completed within Kakao Pay, thereby improving the consumer experience."
