HD Hyundai Oilbank announced on the 27th that President Joo Young-min has joined the ‘Single-Use Products Zero (ZERO) Challenge.’
President Joo participated in this challenge after being nominated by Woo Ki-hong, President of Korean Air. He then nominated Hwang Jin-gu, CEO of Lotte Chemical, and Kim Yoo-shin, CEO of OCI, as the next participants.
The Single-Use Products Zero Challenge is a nationwide campaign to reduce the use of single-use products in daily life and promote the habitual use of reusable products. Starting with the Ministry of Environment in February, nominated organizations and individuals post on social media (SNS) pledging to reduce single-use products and then nominate the next participants.
President Joo said, "I happily participated because of the meaningful goal of leaving a clean environment for future generations," and added, "I hope this challenge spreads nationwide and the use of reusable products becomes a daily habit."
In May, HD Hyundai Oilbank conducted the ‘ESG 7 Challenge,’ where employees practiced ESG activities in their daily lives. Through the ‘ESG 7 Challenge,’ employees completed seven missions: eliminating food waste, separating recyclables, using tumblers and mugs, holding paperless meetings, reviewing ESG-related materials, using stairs, and saving electricity.
