Please Capture the Unique Charm of Geumcheon-gu in Photos

"Please capture the natural environment and urban image of Geumcheon, highlighting the unique charm of our district through your photos."


Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the '2023 Geumcheon-gu Digital Photo Contest' from August 7 to 21 to increase interest in Geumcheon-gu.


The photo contest aims to raise residents' interest in Geumcheon-gu through photos depicting its diverse images and to utilize the photos for district promotion.


The contest themes include the developing urban scenes of Geumcheon-gu (such as Gasan G-Valley, Siheung-daero, etc.), restful ecological environments (Anyangcheon Stream, Hoamsan Mountain, parks, etc.), and other digital photos that can represent the colors of Geumcheon. Photos taken with smartphones are excluded.


Anyone interested in Geumcheon can participate without restrictions, and groups of up to four people may also enter.


The total prize money is 3 million KRW. ▲ Grand Prize 1 million KRW (1 winner) ▲ Excellence Award 300,000 KRW (3 winners) ▲ Encouragement Award 100,000 KRW (6 winners) ▲ Honorable Mention 50,000 KRW (10 winners).


Each participant may submit up to three works. Entries must be submitted along with the application form via email to the person in charge by 6 PM on August 21. Details on photo size, resolution, contest rules, and application forms can be found on the Geumcheon-gu Office website under 'Geumcheon News.'


Selected works will be announced on September 15 on the Geumcheon-gu Office website after judging and verification. The awards ceremony will be held at the 28th Geumcheon Residents' Day celebration in October.


From October 2 to 12, the district office lobby will host an exhibition of the winning works. Additionally, the winning photos will be published in the Geumcheon pictorial book and used for district promotion through various media such as internet broadcasting and social networking services (SNS).


Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu stated, "This is an opportunity to widely promote Geumcheon-gu through photos that capture its diverse charms," and encouraged residents to actively participate in the digital photo contest.
