Agreement on Developing Student Educational Content and Enhancing Teacher Competencies
On the 26th, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education signed an MOU with Wando County Office to promote the 'Marine Healing Project-linked Educational Cooperation Project.'
The signing ceremony took place in the Wando County Office Situation Room, attended by Superintendent Kim Dae-jung, County Governor Shin Woo-cheol, Policy Director Kim Jeong-hee, Education Director Kim Jeong-seon, and about 10 other education officials.
Both institutions signed a business agreement to utilize the marine healing industry for regional educational development, develop student education content for marine ecosystem conservation, and strengthen the capabilities of faculty and staff.

Superintendent Kim and Governor Shin agreed to establish a cooperative system for discovering and supporting student education and experience events and to explore ways to utilize the marine healing industry to address educational issues.
They also plan to operate faculty and staff training programs linked to marine healing facilities, with detailed support measures for the use of marine healing facilities to be discussed and promoted after the agreement is signed.
The marine healing facilities consist of ▲Marine Healing Center ▲Climate Healing Center ▲Cultural Healing Center ▲Yaksan Coastal Healing Forest ▲Cheongsan Healing Park.
In particular, the Marine Healing Center was constructed at Sinji Myeongsasimni Beach with a total project cost of 32 billion KRW, featuring one basement floor, two above-ground floors, and a total floor area of 7,740㎡.
Governor Shin emphasized, “Wando’s marine healing facilities operate various programs including 16 therapies and five-sense experiences,” adding, “Marine healing therapies researched with seaweed and other resources will play an important role in the mental and physical treatment of exhausted faculty and staff.”
Superintendent Kim stated, “Through this business agreement, the Provincial Office of Education will operate faculty and staff training programs linked with Wando County’s marine healing facilities and seek ways to utilize the marine healing industry to solve regional educational issues,” and added, “We will continue to establish a cooperative system with Wando County and both institutions for regional educational development and do our best for the advancement of Jeonnam education.”
