Promotion of 13 Regulatory Improvements
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 27th that it plans to promote 13 regulatory improvements after deliberation and resolution by the Land and Transport Regulatory Reform Committee.
First, the operational range of demand-responsive transportation services, which had been limited to rural and fishing villages, will be expanded to allow use in cases where public transportation inconveniences occur, such as in new towns and during late-night hours.
Additionally, the area criteria for imposing development charges outside the metropolitan area will be temporarily raised until the end of next year. This is to revitalize the economies of regions expected to face difficulties due to population decline and real estate market downturns. Specifically, the criteria will change as follows: metropolitan cities and Sejong urban areas from 660㎡ to 1000㎡, urban areas outside metropolitan cities and Sejong from 990㎡ to 1500㎡, and non-urban areas from 1650㎡ to 2500㎡.
Furthermore, the types of parks where drone pilot training grounds can be installed will be expanded to foster drone leisure activities and encourage park usage.
Meanwhile, since the 6th of this month, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has been operating the 2nd Land and Transport Regulatory Reform Committee. If there are any regulatory improvement proposals requiring committee review, submissions can be made through the Land and Transport Regulatory Improvement Proposal or Regulatory Reform Ombudsman on the Ministry’s website.
