Gwangyang City Selects 14 Companies as Promising Small and Medium Enterprises in Jeollanam-do

Benefits Including Increased Policy Fund Loan Limits and Preferential Interest Rate Support

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that 14 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were finally selected as the ‘2023 Jeollanam-do Promising SMEs.’


Promising SMEs are selected by Jeollanam-do through a comprehensive evaluation of companies recommended after document screening by city and county offices. These companies are SMEs in the province with an average sales revenue of over 2 billion KRW in the past three years, evaluated on financial status, technology, and job creation efforts.

Jeollanam-do annually selects ‘Jeollanam-do Promising SMEs’ to discover and support excellent local SMEs with high growth potential and outstanding technology, and to nurture them into strong and medium-sized enterprises.


In the case of Gwangyang City, the number of selected companies increased by seven compared to the previous year, achieving the highest number of promising SMEs selected within the province.


The promising SMEs selected in Gwangyang City this year are ▲ Estec Co., Ltd. (CEO Ra Byeong-yeol) ▲ Hanguk Sanki Co., Ltd. (CEO Jo Sa-hyeon) ▲ Laentec Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Gi-seung) ▲ Abletop Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Geon-il) ▲ MTS Korea Co., Ltd. (CEO Ryu Eun-sang) ▲ Saka Pan Korea Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee No-young) ▲ Yuwon Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Ok-ja) ▲ SKD HI-TEC Co., Ltd. (CEO Han Seong-mu) ▲ Dongbu Plant Co., Ltd. (CEO Choi Young-ok) ▲ Argomarine Total Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Gwon-ik) ▲ Joongang EMC Co., Ltd. (CEO Lim Seong-gi) ▲ Pixson Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Seong-man) ▲ Manbo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (CEO Nam Yang-jun) ▲ Jecheol Gongmu Co., Ltd. (CEO Ahn Woo-jeong), totaling 14 companies.


The selected companies will receive various preferential benefits during the three-year designation period according to Jeollanam-do’s SME development strategy by growth stage, including increased loan limits for SME development funds, interest support and preferential treatment on loans, and additional points when participating in sales and export-related projects.


Additionally, the city provides various preferential treatments such as preferential interest rates for SME loan interest subsidies, awards for top executives, and additional points when participating in industrial property rights certification support projects.


Lee Hwa-yeop, Head of the Investment and Economy Division, said, “We are grateful to the companies recognized for their technological capabilities and competitiveness through continuous research and development despite difficult economic conditions,” and added, “We will spare no administrative and financial support to help the promising SMEs selected this time grow into strong enterprises.”


Meanwhile, Gwangyang City currently holds the largest number of promising SMEs in the province, with 9 companies selected in 2021 and 7 companies in 2022 as Jeollanam-do promising SMEs.
