Guro-gu Delivers Relief Supplies to Sister Cities Goesan-gun and Yecheon-gun Affected by Heavy Rain

Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) has stepped up to support its sister cities, Goesan-gun in Chungbuk and Yecheon-gun in Gyeongbuk, which suffered significant damage from the heavy rain.

The district assessed the current situation in the affected cities and identified the most needed items to provide prompt assistance.

Relief supplies worth approximately 20 million KRW, including water, cup noodles, wet wipes, toiletries, and blankets, will be delivered through donations collected from employees and support from the Guro Hope Welfare Foundation.

Additionally, the Guro-gu Residents’ Autonomy Committee Chairpersons’ Association will provide supplies worth about 2 million KRW.

Mayor Moon Heon-il said, “It pains us that our sister cities, with whom we have exchanged visits during festivals and other events, have suffered flood damage. Having experienced floods ourselves last year, we deeply empathize with their hardship. We hope for a swift recovery and that our support can be of some help.”

Guro-gu established sister city relationships with Goesan-gun in 2008 and Yecheon-gun in 2011, and previously provided donations and supplies to these sister cities affected by floods in 2017 and 2020.
