Dongmyeong University and Suncheon University Hold Ultra-Wide Area Information Exchange Meeting

Dongmyung University and National Suncheon University held an information exchange meeting for regional-university co-growth at Suncheon University on the afternoon of the 25th.

The event was attended by over 50 key university officials, including Suncheon Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu and Dongmyung University President Jeon Ho-hwan.

At the event, President Jeon Ho-hwan delivered a presentation titled "Dongmyung University Glocal University Strategy," sharing a vision to nurture Do-ing talents capable of thriving in any world.

The detailed innovation goals included ▲ 3 No's (No Teaching, No Credits, No Grade) Do-ing Education ▲ Three semesters per year system (Learning-Industry Internship-Learning) ▲ Top 20 nationwide private university in per capita education expenses, student-designed majors and overseas semester system ▲ Establishment of UBRC, Pet Park, Data Center, Equestrian Center, etc. ▲ Becoming a glocal university with equal numbers of domestic and international students to leap into a global hub city ▲ Construction of Gyeongsang National University Animal Hospital.

President Jeon stated, “The world’s only UN Cemetery and Peace Memorial Park located in front of Dongmyung University is a glocal content asset of Busan, and we will utilize this to establish the ‘UN International University’ with international competitiveness and equal numbers of domestic and international students.”

Suncheon University Planning Director Son Young-jin, in a presentation titled “Glocal, National Suncheon University,” announced a vision of “Innovation beyond the limits of regional national universities to foster specialized local small and medium enterprises.”

Suncheon University explained that it will realize a glocal university through specialization in ▲ Green Smart Farm ▲ Animation and Cultural Contents ▲ Aerospace and Advanced Materials fields.

Following this, Suncheon Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu introduced the process of establishing Suncheon’s status as a national garden city in a presentation titled “Noh Kwan-gyu’s Ecological City Experiment Shakes the Republic of Korea!”

Dongmyung University, after establishing the nation’s only single-college ‘Companion Animal College,’ has attracted the first university animal hospital in the Busan-Ulsan area (Gyeongsang National University University Animal Hospital Busan Branch) through ultra-wide cooperation breaking down barriers between local governments, national universities, and private universities.
