Netflix to Produce 'Mudosilmugwan' Starring Kim Woo-bin and Kim Sung-kyun

Online video service (OTT) Netflix announced on the 26th that it will produce director Kim Joo-hwan's film "Mudosilmu-gwan."

The action comedy film "Mudosilmu-gwan," starring actors Kim Woo-bin and Kim Sung-kyun, depicts the story of Lee Jeong-do (Kim Woo-bin), who holds a combined 9th dan in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo, working as a Mudosilmu-gwan alongside probation officer Kim Seon-min (Kim Sung-kyun) to monitor electronic anklet wearers and prevent crimes.

Mudosilmu-gwan monitors electronic anklet wearers who have been given probation due to a high risk of reoffending and prevents crimes to protect citizens' safety. They operate in pairs with probation officers, preventing dangers that may befall the probation officers and subduing criminals.

Kim Woo-bin plays a young man who delivers for his father's munchkin business and cannot pass by people in need without helping. He is an ordinary and easygoing youth who plays games and chats with friends at PC rooms while drinking, but he is a martial arts expert holding black belts of 3rd dan each in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo, totaling 9th dan.

The story begins in earnest after he accidentally saves a Mudosilmu-gwan from an attack by a criminal wearing an electronic anklet and takes over the Mudosilmu-gwan duties for five weeks as a substitute.

Kim Sung-kyun plays a probation officer who wants to do work that helps people by managing violent offenders wearing electronic anklets. He recognizes Lee Jeong-do's talent and intuition as a temporary partner and encourages him to become a full-fledged Mudosilmu-gwan.

Director Kim Joo-hwan, who directed the film "Midnight Runners" (2017) and the Netflix series "Hounds," is at the helm.
