[Click eStock] "FNS Tech, CMP Regeneration Pad Sales Increase"

FS Research analyzed on the 26th that FNS Tech's sales of regenerated pads are increasing due to customer demand.

Established in 2002, FNS Tech is a company that develops display equipment and components as well as semiconductor materials. CMP pads are materials used to remove impurities from semiconductor wafers and to flatten the wafers. They are supplied to Samsung Electronics and there is a high dependence on overseas companies including DuPont.

Hwang Se-hwan, a researcher at FS Research, stated, "It is understood that Samsung Electronics is making efforts to reduce costs following poor performance in the first half of the year," and explained, "they are increasing the proportion of domestically produced products that offer relatively good quality for the price or actively utilizing regenerated products."

He added, "since environmental pollution caused by production is minimized, it is also positive for ESG, so the use of regenerated products is expected to increase going forward."

He analyzed, "Among the CMP pad products produced by FNS Tech, there are regenerated products," and "sales are expected to increase this year and next year."

Researcher Hwang said, "CMP pad sales are expected to increase from 5.6 billion KRW last year to 10 billion KRW this year and 20 billion KRW next year," emphasizing that "DuPont products, which were dominating the market, are seeing reduced demand as customers make cost-cutting efforts, leading to increased demand for FNS Tech products."

He also explained, "In the HBM production process, there is a process that flattens the copper filled in TSV holes after the TSV process," and "CMP pads are used." He added, "Currently, DuPont CMP pads are being used, but there is a sufficient possibility that FNS Tech products will be used when regenerated pads are used after a certain period."

Researcher Hwang judged, "Since CMP pads are also used in the HBM process, demand may increase," and "there is a positive opportunity factor in that there is visibility for regenerated pads to be supplied in the future."
