Gangnam-gu Mayor Jo Seong-myeong Inspects Daemosan Landslide Recovery Site

On the 25th at 3 PM, Cho Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, visited the Daemosan flood restoration site to check the progress of the recovery work.

The district restored key areas around Daemosan, where landslides occurred due to heavy rainfall in August last year, from October last year to June this year, in preparation for the upcoming heavy rains.

The district installed erosion control facilities such as gabions and stone cages around Neungin Seonwon near Daemosan (San 211-3, Gaepo-dong) and planted 15,780 trees of 12 species including Ipap. Additionally, erosion control facilities such as gabions and retaining walls were installed around Bulguksa (San 52-9, Irwon-dong), and 16,739 trees of 10 species including Hwangmaehwa were planted. In particular, the unpaved steep slope in front of Bulguksa, a long-standing wish of the residents, was improved to resolve their concerns.

Cho Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “I re-inspected the restoration sites damaged by last year’s flood to ensure nothing is lacking,” and added, “We will do our best to prevent damage from heavy rains by establishing thorough prior preparations and a rapid response system.”
