Gangdong-gu, Committed to Fulfilling Promises Made to Residents

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) held a regular meeting of the ‘Pledge Implementation Evaluation Group’ composed of about 30 residents on the 24th, creating an opportunity for residents to objectively evaluate the pledge items and thereby realizing a trusted communication administration.

Prior to this, on the 14th, a progress review meeting on the pledge projects was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Lee Soo-hee. About 30 people, including Mayor Lee Soo-hee of Gangdong-gu, the deputy mayor, and heads of relevant departments, attended the meeting to thoroughly re-examine the feasibility of the pledge projects currently being implemented in the 8th elected term.

In addition, the district plans to accelerate the promotion of pledge projects guaranteed with ‘execution power’ by diagnosing potential problems expected during the implementation process in advance through in-depth interdepartmental consultations and exploring multifaceted solutions.

The pledge projects of Gangdong-gu in the 8th elected term consist of ‘3 major goals, 8 resident promises, and 48 district administrative tasks,’ among which 6 projects have been completed so far. The major completed pledge projects include ▲ the prompt resumption of the Dunchon Jugong reconstruction work ▲ opposition to the installation of the metropolitan resource recovery facility ▲ suspension of the construction of the hydrogen fuel cell power plant ▲ expansion of lunch helper support at senior centers ▲ improvement project of Haegong Sports and Culture Center facilities, and ▲ promotion of the installation of the Gangil-dong Smart Welfare Center. These completed pledges are mainly in areas closely related to residents’ daily lives, and the district expects resident satisfaction to increase.

Mayor Lee Soo-hee of Gangdong-gu stated, “We will responsibly carry out the ‘pledges’ promised first to the residents as the foundation of Gangdong-gu’s administration,” and added, “To reflect the diverse wishes and demands of residents related to the pledge projects, we will do our best to consult with related organizations and actively secure external resources, always leading the district administration with a proactive attitude.”
