Suncheon-si Conducts 2023 Economic Indicator Survey

Understanding Suncheon Economic Trends, Preparing Basic Policy Data

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it will conduct the "2023 Suncheon City Economic Indicator Survey" from the 25th to August 31.

The Economic Indicator Survey is conducted to investigate the business environment and business activity conditions of enterprises located in Suncheon City, and to use the data as basic materials for future industrial and economic policy establishment. It is a nationally approved statistical survey conducted biennially since 2019.

This survey targets a total of 1,040 businesses, including 313 manufacturing and 727 non-manufacturing enterprises within the jurisdiction. The survey items consist of 49 categories, including general company status, workforce and management status, industry status and outlook, and Suncheon City-specific items.

The survey is conducted by about 30 surveyors who visit in person. They coordinate schedules through prior contact before the visit. For businesses where in-person visits are difficult, non-face-to-face surveys (via website, email, etc.) are conducted.

The survey contents are strictly confidential according to Article 33 of the Statistics Act, and participating businesses will be given Suncheon Love Gift Certificates as a token of appreciation.

The city conducted preliminary training for surveyors participating in the survey on visit survey methods and questionnaire completion. After the main survey, data entry, error checking, and result analysis, provisional results will be announced in December on the National Statistical System (KOSIS).

A Suncheon City official said, "We ask for your understanding that accurate statistics are essential for establishing proper regional industrial development policies, and we request active cooperation when surveyors visit."
