KEPCO KDN announced on the 21st that it visited the construction site of its Seoul-Incheon Regional Headquarters building to strengthen safety measures and conduct a joint safety inspection.
This joint inspection focused on enhancing the safety awareness of construction site managers and checking the implementation status of the pre-established safety management plan before the full-scale construction work, aiming for the successful completion of the regional headquarters building construction and achieving accident-free and disaster-free results.
Kim Jang-hyun, President of KEPCO KDN, along with representatives from the Construction Management (CM) team, contractors, and the Korea Construction Safety Association, attended the event where progress reports and presentations on major safety measures for each planned construction phase were held. The presentations included discussions on 'Roles of Safety Personnel and Key Management Areas,' stakeholder meetings, demonstrations of the safety control system, and joint safety guidance and inspections.
Participants pledged through progress reports and meetings to cooperate in leading the prevention of industrial accidents and to create a worker-centered safety-first worksite. In particular, the demonstration of the 'Mobile AI Safety Control System,' developed based on KEPCO KDN’s own technology, showcased real-time video monitoring and analysis of the worksite, detection of worker safety conditions, and alarm notification functions, drawing significant attention to the utilization of the system installed at the new construction site.
Kim Jang-hyun, President of KEPCO KDN, emphasized, “Special attention is required to prevent safety accidents and protect the health of on-site workers due to the prolonged extreme heavy rain and heat waves.” He added, “This year has been designated as the inaugural year for establishing a safety culture at KEPCO KDN through management and participation, and we will actively support the spread of safety culture not only at construction sites but also at worksites nationwide.”
KEPCO KDN is making various efforts to establish a safe working environment and improve safety and health management levels. The company has implemented the 'Mobile AI Video Analysis On-site Safety Management System,' embedded in its self-developed cloud solution K-ECP (KDN-Energy Cloud Platform), at work sites. Through a business agreement with the Korea Construction Safety Association, KEPCO KDN also provides safety and health-related technical consulting and education to companies participating in the building construction.
