Competitor to 'Palisade' Arrives... Toyota Mid-Size SUV Highlander Officially Launched

Highlander Limited Starting from 66,600,000 KRW

Toyota Korea announced on the 25th that it will officially launch and start selling the mid-large 7-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV) 'Highlander'.

The Highlander, introduced for the first time in Korea, is the 4th generation model. It features efficient fuel economy through a 2.5ℓ hybrid powertrain, comfortable ride quality, and versatile space utilization.

The exterior of the Highlander is designed with the concept of 'Powerful Suave,' completing dynamic lines and a stable body ratio. The front grille applying the Toyota SUV family look, the wide front, the emphasized volume in the lower design, 20-inch wheels, and large-diameter tires create a stable body proportion.

The interior offers a luxurious material and various color combinations based on a horizontally emphasized layout. The Highlander, a 7-seater SUV with three rows, arranges the seats in a stepped manner in each row to provide an open view for all passengers. The second-row independent captain seats offer comfort as a separate space, and the flat folding function that can simultaneously flatten the second and third-row seats allows for versatile space utilization during outdoor leisure activities such as large-capacity loading or car camping.

The Highlander achieves a total system output of 246 horsepower and a combined fuel efficiency of 13.8 km/ℓ with a parallel hybrid system and a 2.5ℓ naturally aspirated engine. With superior fuel efficiency compared to models in the same class, it also qualifies for eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits, discounts on public parking lots, and exemptions from congestion charges as a low-emission vehicle class 2.

Based on the TNGA-K (Toyota New Global Architecture-K) platform, the Highlander completes a high-rigidity body and reduces vibrations under the vehicle. Additionally, optimal suspension tuning provides a comfortable ride. In particular, the sound absorption and insulation design around the dashboard and center console reduce indoor noise intrusion.

The Highlander is equipped with the infotainment system 'Toyota Connect.' Toyota Connect is based on LG Uplus's U+Drive and offers communication-type navigation, podcasts, mobile TV, and through separate service subscriptions, music streaming and U+ Smart Home functions.

With an AI voice recognition system linked to Naver CLOVA, various functions such as setting navigation destinations and adjusting interior temperature can be controlled by the occupant's voice. The LG U+ Drive LTE service is free for three years from the date of subscription and is provided for a fee after three years.

The Extended Warranty Program (EWP) also includes Toyota Korea's own program. Adding Toyota's general warranty period of 3 years or 100,000 km, Toyota Korea's own 2-year service program supports safe driving for a total of 5 years or 100,000 km based on the earlier of the two criteria.

The Highlander is sold in two grades: Limited and Platinum, with the recommended retail prices being ▲Highlander Limited at 66.6 million KRW ▲Highlander Platinum at 74.7 million KRW (including VAT, based on 5% individual consumption tax).
