The Junggu Council of Seoul (Chairman Gil Gi-young) visited the Jangam-myeon area of Buyeo-gun, Chungnam, which was damaged by heavy rain on the 21st, to provide support for affected farms.
Buyeo-gun, Chungnam, was declared a special disaster area along with Nonsan, Gongju, and Cheongyang due to heavy rains from the 13th to the 18th.
This field visit was organized to support flood recovery and comfort residents by visiting the sites of the heavy rain damage. About 20 people, including Junggu Council Chairman Gil Gi-young, Vice Chairman Yoon Pan-oh, Council Operations Committee Chair Lee Jeong-mi, Administrative and Health Committee Chair Song Jae-cheon, Welfare and Construction Committee Chair Jo Mi-jung, and staff from the Council Secretariat, actively participated in the recovery efforts.
At a watermelon farm damaged by flooding in the Jangam-myeon area, council members and staff worked hard to organize crops, plastic sheets, and farming materials inside the greenhouse that had collapsed due to inundation.
On the day, Jang Seong-yong, Chairman of the Buyeo County Council, and Park Jeong-hyun, Buyeo County Governor, also came to the site to encourage and express gratitude for the recovery work.
Chairman Gil Gi-young said, “I thank my fellow council members and staff who came together with one heart and mind despite the hot weather. I hope this visit can bring hope and courage to the farms in despair and help accelerate the return to normal life, even if only a little.”
