Nonggye Farm Co., Ltd. was established in 2004 and is located in Gimje-si, Jeonbuk. The company is renowned for being the first in Korea to develop the remote-controlled herbicide sprayer "Super Jebibote."
In particular, although the company has no special ties with Imsil-gun, it has set a great example by generously supporting the flood-affected farmers in Imsil.
CEO Jo Kyung-ah said, "I understand that the soybean cultivation area in Imsil-gun has expanded this year," adding, "I hope this donation can be of some help to the farmers who are struggling to continue farming due to the heavy rain."
County Governor Sim Min said, "We will focus all administrative efforts on swift recovery measures and support plans to prevent further damage to farmers affected by this heavy rain," and added, "We thank CEO Jo Kyung-ah of Nonggye Farm Co., Ltd. for sending warm-hearted support to the county and will use the donated equipment effectively."
Meanwhile, the county recorded an average rainfall of 450mm from the 13th to the 19th, resulting in damage to 19 public facilities, 2 private facilities, and 16.3 hectares of crops so far.
The county is continuously assessing the damage and is accelerating emergency restoration work to minimize inconvenience to residents.
With localized heavy rain expected around this weekend, the county is thoroughly preparing for disaster response by identifying vulnerable areas such as 263 flood- and landslide-prone sites, riversides, and 117 steep slopes, as well as areas at risk of human casualties.
