Selvas AI is showing strong performance. It appears that the news of the Ministry of Education deciding to publish AI digital textbooks for elementary, middle, and high schools as certified materials starting in 2025 is influencing the stock price.
As of 11:48 AM on the 21st, Selvas AI is trading at 19,950 KRW, up 13.35% from the previous day.
On this day, the Ministry of Education announced the administrative notice of the revision of the 'Distinction between National and Certified Digital Textbooks for Elementary and Secondary Schools according to the 2022 Revised Curriculum' and will collect opinions until the 7th of next month. The revision is a follow-up measure to the 'AI Digital Textbook Promotion Plan' announced last month.
AI digital textbooks for Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies (including History), Science, Technology & Home Economics in elementary and middle schools, as well as common subjects and special education basic curriculum subjects in high schools, will be developed and applied in the field starting in 2025.
Textbooks are classified into national textbooks, certified textbooks, and recognized textbooks according to the 'Regulations on Textbooks for Educational Use.' National textbooks are copyrighted by the Ministry of Education, while certified textbooks are approved by the Minister of Education.
Previously, Selvas AI signed a business agreement with Gyeongbuk Seondeok Girls' High School to conduct a pilot project for the digital textbook service 'Selpub.' Seondeok Girls' High School uses Selpub to allow teachers to create digital textbooks themselves and use them in classes. The school expects that high-quality content integrated with AI technology will not only improve academic achievement but also enhance the digital content creation and learning capabilities of both teachers and students in the school field.
'Selpub' is a service that allows users to create their own digital textbooks. It enables the production of courseware content by adding problems, multimedia, and interactions to teaching materials. It provides tools to distribute content to students and monitor learning status. It also supports AI functions such as English and Korean pronunciation evaluation, handwriting recognition, and formula recognition, and offers AI tutoring functions for students and teachers through learning data analysis.
Jae-woo Park, Head of Edutech Business at Selvas AI, explained, "Selpub has been mainly supplied to textbook publishers and educational companies and has been recognized for its performance. We started the pilot school project to listen to the voices of actual users, teachers and students, while advancing Selpub into an AI-based learning analysis service platform." He added, "We want to contribute to innovation in the education field by providing edutech services that support teachers at the center of public education to create content and conduct classes according to their own teaching and learning methods."
