Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) enacted the ordinance on supporting Good Price Businesses in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul on the 13th. This was to establish a support basis for Good Price Businesses in the area, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy through stable operations of small business owners and price stabilization.

'Seongbuk-gu Good Price Businesses' are local personal service businesses recognized for contributing to price stabilization in sectors closely related to residents' daily lives, such as dining, beauty and hairdressing, and laundry services. When a business applies for designation as a Good Price Business to the Seongbuk-gu Office, an on-site inspection and evaluation are conducted based on price, quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. If the business meets the designation criteria, Seongbuk-gu officially designates it as a Good Price Business.

As of July 2023, Seongbuk-gu has designated a total of 33 Good Price Businesses. Designated stores receive a Good Price Business plaque and benefits for contributing to local price stabilization. Seongbuk-gu has been providing customized support by surveying the demand for desired items per business, receiving positive responses. In the second half of this year, benefits worth approximately 290,000 KRW (consumables such as volume-based waste bags, food waste stickers, towels, and pest control services) will be provided per business. If they also received benefits in the first half, they will receive a total of 580,000 KRW in benefits in 2023.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “Recently, small business owners in the area have been facing many difficulties due to high prices and weakened consumer sentiment. I hope that by participating in the Good Price Business support project and receiving necessary items per business, their burdens will be eased even a little.” He added, “To stabilize prices and reduce the economic burden on residents, we will continue to actively discover and support Good Price Businesses.”

Seongbuk-gu will continue recruiting new participants to expand Good Price Businesses in the second half of the year. Interested businesses can apply at any time, and detailed information about the application and selection criteria can be obtained by contacting the Local Economy Division of Seongbuk-gu Office.
