15 First-Prize Lottery Tickets... The Secret Behind a Lonely Gireogi Dad Working in China Becoming a Millionaire in an Instant

Purchased 15 Lottery Tickets with the Same Number
Combination of Family Birthdates... "A Gift from God"

A story has emerged about a gireogi father working in China who won a lottery worth 77 million yuan (approximately 13.5 billion KRW). This man, who worked alone away from his family, reportedly wrote the birthdates of his wife and children on the lottery ticket numbers, which led to this stroke of luck.

On the 17th (local time), Hong Kong media South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported the story of a man named A working in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, eastern China, who won lottery prize money amounting to 14 billion KRW.

Mr. A recently purchased 15 lottery tickets for 30 yuan (about 5,300 KRW) and wrote the same numbers on all of them. This lottery is a local public welfare fund lottery operated by Zhejiang Province.

Amazingly, Mr. A won first prize in the lottery on the 11th. Since he wrote the same numbers on all 15 tickets, it means he could claim the first prize 15 times. The first prize this month was 5.14 million yuan (about 900 million KRW), and Mr. A was able to receive a total prize of 77.1 million yuan. It is reported to be the largest lottery prize in Zhejiang Province's history.

Having instantly become a millionaire, Mr. A proudly spoke of the numbers he insisted on using. Usually working apart from his family, he said he bought the lottery to ease his loneliness. He carefully combined the birthdates of his wife and three children to create the numbers on the lottery ticket. In other words, his love for his family brought him this life-changing fortune.

Mr. A told local media, "I wrote the lottery numbers using the birthdates of my wife and our children. Every time I bought a lottery ticket this year, I always used these numbers," emphasizing, "It's as if my family gave me this luck."

In his early 30s, Mr. A travels around mainland China for work. Because of this, he has been living apart from his family.

Mr. A has been regularly purchasing lottery tickets since 2009. Even his family, who are far away, supported his hobby of buying lottery tickets. He told the media, "I have shared this news with my family as well," adding, "The prize money is so large that I think I need to make plans on how to use it."

Mr. A’s story also became a hot topic on Chinese social networking services (SNS) such as Weibo and Baidu. Netizens congratulated him with comments like, "There is no lack of luck for someone who loves their family," and "This is a gift from God."
