Four Domestic and Foreign Nationals Consecutively Booked on Drug Use Charges

Both domestic and foreign nationals who used drugs such as methamphetamine and marijuana in residential areas and on the streets were consecutively arrested by the police.

The Gwangju Seobu Police Station announced on the 20th that they have booked and are investigating A (32) on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

A is suspected of inhaling methamphetamine on the street near Samyeong-dong, Naju-si, around 3 a.m. on the 17th.

At the time, the police responded to a report from an acquaintance stating "being with someone who used drugs" and found drugs among A's belongings.

According to the police investigation, A tested positive in a drug screening test and was found to have purchased and inhaled methamphetamine via SNS since May.

In addition, the police have arrested and are investigating B (25), an illegal resident of Kazakhstan nationality, and C (25) and D (30), both of Turkish nationality.

They are suspected of inhaling marijuana at a one-room apartment in Gwangcheon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 14th.

Furthermore, B is also charged with selling marijuana to C and D.

They reportedly met at the same construction site and started using marijuana following B's suggestion.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A, who sold marijuana, and trace financial transactions to track down drug suppliers and dealers.
