Yeonggwang-gun to Recruit Participants for 'Turing Leader Training Course' Until the 17th of Next Month

Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do is recruiting trainees for the 'Turing Leader Training Course' on a first-come, first-served basis until the 17th of next month as part of employment and start-up education to promote economic activities.

According to the county on the 20th, Turing is a native Korean sport that combines traditional play elements such as Biseokchigi and Guseulchigi with modern sports like bowling, curling, and billiards. It is a creative fun sport played in a small space (3m×0.9m) using hand stones and moving stones to strike.

The training will be held once a week for a total of 8 weeks starting mid-next month with 20 trainees. Applicants must reside in the county, with priority given to vulnerable groups and those under 60 years old.

The training is completely free, and upon completion, trainees will be awarded a Level 2 Turing Leader certification, enabling them to conduct Turing lectures at welfare centers, senior citizen centers, schools, and more.

Since it is a sport that can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere with almost no spatial restrictions, the tools of Turing and the correct posture used in the sport are expected to improve concentration, enhance physical flexibility and balance, strengthen muscles, and boost confidence.

A county official said, “We will do our best to spread the fun sport ‘Turing’ throughout the local community to revitalize everyday sports.”
