Anti-Corruption and Compliance Management Certification Obtained
The Only One Among the Top 3 Telecom Companies
SK Telecom announced on the 20th that it has obtained the international standard ISO certification recognizing its compliance management system for fair trade, anti-corruption, and other compliance management areas. SK Telecom is the only domestic telecommunications company holding two ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-related ISO certifications.
SK Telecom recently acquired the 'ISO 37301' certification, an international standard compliance management system, in recognition of its advanced ESG management and leading compliance system established through building a compliance management environment.
Ok Kyung-hee, President of the Korea Productivity Center Certification Institute (left), handed the certificate to Chae Jong-geun, Compliance Officer at SK Telecom (right), at T Tower in Euljiro, Seoul.
ISO 37301 was established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in April 2021 and is an international standard concerning requirements and procedures for compliance management.
SK Telecom explained that it has been recognized for faithfully establishing compliance management systems in accordance with international standards across nine areas. These nine areas are △Telecommunications Business △Fair Trade △BR (Business Partner Relationship) and Subcontracting △Information Security △Safety and Health △Human Resources and Labor △Anti-Corruption △Intellectual Property Rights △Corporate Governance.
In particular, SKT became the first domestic telecommunications company to hold both the anti-corruption management international standard and the compliance management international standard by acquiring the 'SO37001' anti-corruption management system certification last November and now additionally obtaining the ISO 37301 compliance management system certification.
SK Telecom has an autonomous compliance monitoring system in place so that all members can normalize compliance management in all areas of internal business activities. It also has established and operates control measures and prevention systems for compliance risks specific to each business.
By creating and distributing manuals of 'Do's' and 'Don'ts' for each field to be used regularly, SK Telecom conducts regular and irregular compliance training for all employees.
Chae Jong-geun, SK Telecom’s Compliance Officer, stated, "We will continue to devote ourselves to compliance management activities to become a company that earns even stronger trust both internally and externally."
