"No Disciplinary Action for Kim Eui-gyeom... Cause of Losing Morality"
Regarding the Democratic Party Innovation Committee distancing itself from evaluating the Lee Jae-myung leadership, Lee Won-wook, a non-Lee faction Democratic Party lawmaker, criticized, saying "Kim Eun-kyung's Innovation Committee is postponing the evaluation." He pointed out that the lack of disciplinary action against lawmaker Kim Eui-gyeom, who caused controversy with his 'Gungpyeong Underpass' remarks, is "a cause of losing morality."
On the 20th, Lee said on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' "Who would consider innovation with sacred cows as true innovation?"

The Innovation Committee has stated its position to proceed with innovation while recognizing the current Lee Jae-myung leadership. Innovation Committee member Seo Bok-kyung said in a previous SBS radio interview, "We have not found any grounds for impeachment against Leader Lee so far, so naturally, we are creating innovation plans based on the current leadership's existence."
However, Lee said, "Who said to impeach Leader Lee Jae-myung? I heard the term 'impeachment' for the first time, and I never said to impeach him," adding, "The first step should be to conduct an evaluation (for innovation)."
When asked by the host if there was a special reason why the Innovation Committee is not conducting an evaluation, he replied, "I have not heard anything about what is going on inside the Innovation Committee, so I don't know," but also criticized, "Innovation is impossible if they are watching the leadership's mood."
Regarding the speculation that the Innovation Committee's next innovation plan will limit candidacy to less than three terms in a district, he said, "If there is a fair evaluation showing that losing the presidential election, losing the local elections, and failing to increase support are results of serving more than three terms, I would accept that," but expressed opposition by saying, "However, is it really the right direction for innovation to pre-judge the nomination issue six months ahead and conduct a witch hunt?"
Regarding the stance of the pro-Lee faction 'Democratic Party National Innovation Council' outside the National Assembly, which stated that to win next year's general election, candidacy should be limited to less than three terms in a district and a large-scale nomination reshuffle is necessary, he said, "Is it bad if someone serves more than three terms and good if they are first-term? Proper evaluations and standards must be established for these things as well."
Regarding the lack of party-level disciplinary action after lawmaker Kim Eui-gyeom apologized for linking the president's visit to Ukraine with the Gungpyeong underpass disaster, he said, "That seems to be one of the reasons why the Democratic Party is losing its morality."
He added, "For example, during Minister Han Dong-hoon's confirmation hearing, there were remarks by lawmaker Kim Nam-guk's aunt, Kim Eui-gyeom's comments about a bar in Cheongdam-dong, and lawmaker Jang Kyung-tae's pornography remarks about First Lady Kim Geon-hee. These have accumulated continuously, and even though it was revealed that these were wrong, the party leadership has not taken any action against them."
