SAMG Entertainment, 'Catch! Teenieping' Takes Second Leap... "We Will Make New History in K-Anime"

‘Catch! Teenieping,’ which has established itself as a representative K-animation, is beginning its second leap. It aims to expand its kids fandom into a family fandom while presenting a new business paradigm that other kids IPs have not shown.


SAMG Entertainment (CEO Kim Suhoon, hereafter SAMG Entertainment) announced on the 19th that it will launch Catch! Teenieping Season 4 this September. Additionally, the Catch! Teenieping theatrical trilogy will be released sequentially, one film at a time, starting next year.


Launched by SAMG Entertainment in 2020, Catch! Teenieping is a mega content with a kids fandom of 2 million in South Korea alone. With a cumulative figure sales volume of 4.5 million units, a peak viewership rating surpassing 18%, and ranking first on domestic and international OTT platforms, it has continuously broken new records for kids IPs within three years of its launch, solidifying its position as the number one kids content.


The fandom growth is ongoing. Originally launched targeting girls aged 4 to 7, Catch! Teenieping has now become content enjoyed not only by girls but also by boys. This breaks the conventional formula of kids animation being divided into boys’ and girls’ content.


SAMG Entertainment plans to expand Catch! Teenieping into a global family IP by sequentially launching the Catch! Teenieping theatrical trilogy starting next year. The theatrical films will be produced as content that the entire family can enjoy, not just children. The trilogy will serve as a catalyst to expand the Catch! Teenieping fandom from kids to family.


Through this, SAMG Entertainment aims to present a new paradigm in character IP business with Catch! Teenieping. Based on a hit IP, it will strengthen a lifestyle-oriented business model (BM) that generates related sales in toys, fashion, food and beverage (F&B), and offline spaces.


First, the animation series will stably generate sales in toys, fashion, and F&B. The theatrical trilogy will be linked to offline space business. The animation spaces featured in the films will be realized as actual offline spaces, providing content that families can all enjoy. Based on this, a value chain encompassing ‘content-offline space-MD’ will be completed.


SAMG Entertainment emphasized that it has completed preparations for expanding the target audience and worldview of Catch! Teenieping. Starting with Season 4 and the theatrical films, it will actively launch the new businesses it has been preparing.


Kim Suhoon, CEO of SAMG Entertainment, said, “The new business model using Catch! Teenieping was in the preparation stage until now, and from now on it will officially begin. Starting with Season 4 and the theatrical films, we will present a new kids content paradigm combining toys, F&B, and offline spaces.”
