Healing Mind and Body through Various Experiential Activities and Marine Healing Resources
The Health Center of Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 19th that it operated a healing program for 10 dementia patients and their families in the area.
This healing program was conducted for participants of the dementia family class held at the Dementia Safety Center over the course of one month starting in June.
The participants visited the newly renovated Dolmeori Beach, took a walk along the deck path, and practiced meditation utilizing marine healing resources such as sea breeze and marine aerosols.
Afterwards, they experienced flower tea tasting and daily tea ceremony in Daedong-myeon, and spent time fostering mutual exchange and empathy among families of dementia patients.
Shim Hwa-seop, the head of the Health Center, stated, “We hope this healing program helped families of dementia patients to recover their mind and body, which were exhausted from caregiving, even if only a little.”
Meanwhile, the county plans to further expand various dementia programs in the second half of the year, including ▲operation of dementia safety villages ▲dementia prevention classes ▲cognitive rehabilitation and cognitive enhancement classes ▲dementia awareness improvement campaigns.
