Jungnang-gu Holds 2023 Pledge Project Report Meeting for the 8th Term of Elected Mayor
Out of 124 Pledge Projects, 35 Completed, 89 Under Normal or Partial Progress
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the ‘2023 Pledge Project Report Meeting for the 8th Term of Elected Mayor’ on the afternoon of the 18th at the Planning Situation Room of Jungnang-gu Office.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi and about 70 department heads to share the progress of pledge projects and discuss issues and countermeasures during the implementation process.
Jungnang-gu is promoting a total of 124 pledge projects under seven major performance goals to realize the vision of ‘Happy Future, New Jungnang.’ Key pledge projects for the 8th term include ▲Construction of the 2nd Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center and Astronomy Science Museum ▲Low-rise residential area housing development project ▲Construction of Jungnang Startup Support Center ▲Relocation of SH headquarters to Sinnae-dong ▲Development of Mangu Historical and Cultural Park into a top national attraction ▲Expansion of barrier-free forest trails ▲Activation of Jungnang Environmental Education Center, among others.
As of the end of June, the district has completed the implementation of 35 projects. Major completed projects include ▲Transfer of operating rights for 129 private parking spaces ▲Improvement works on aging sewage pipelines ▲Registration and support of Taereung Alley-type Shopping District ▲Street environment maintenance from Sangbong Station to Sangbong 2-dong Community Service Center ▲Establishment of Jungnang Senior Club and creation of ‘Elderly Recreation Center.’ The district also stated that the remaining 89 projects are progressing normally.
Based on the results of the report meeting, the district plans to identify and supplement issues in unfinished projects and focus administrative efforts to ensure that pledge items are implemented transparently and without setbacks.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “Since pledges are promises to residents, the efforts of all staff are more important than anything else,” and added, “Please continue to do your best so that the pledged projects can be carried out more solidly to realize the vision of ‘Happy Future, New Jungnang’ and to foster pride among Jungnang residents.”
Jungnang-gu is actively communicating with residents and promoting pledge items through the ‘Happy Jungnang Vision Committee’ and ‘Jungnang Vision Roundtable Meetings.’ In April, it received the highest (SA) grade in the ‘8th Term Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Implementation Plan Evaluation’ hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
